Tampa Bay Rowdies midfielder Jeff Michaud has joined the United Soccer League’s Wilmington Hammerheads on a season-long loan, the club announced Friday.
Michaud, 22, signed his first professional contract with the Rowdies last season. He made four total appearances in the North American Soccer League in 2015, logging 32 total minutes in his rookie season. He played in all three matches of the 2016 Rowdies Suncoast Invitational against D.C. United, the Philadelphia Union, and the Montreal Impact in February.
An exciting young attack-minded midfielder, Michaud will enhance the Hammerheads’ attack this season.
Wilmington kicks off its USL regular season March 25 against Orlando City B at Eastern Florida State College’s Titan Soccer Complex in Melbourne. Michaud played for the Titans in college. The Hammerheads play their home opener April 1 against the Richmond Kickers.
