FC Edmonton is proud to announce the hiring of the organization’s new general manager, Jay Ball. Ball is a seasoned Edmonton executive with over 20 years experience in strategic leadership, corporate sponsorship, and operational execution. His position with FC Edmonton is effective immediately.

Ball held a significant behind-the-scenes role for the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015, focusing his efforts towards marketing, corporate engagement, and ticketing strategies for Edmonton’s 11 local matches. Ball and his team set an event attendance record following the conclusion of Edmonton’s matches.

“I'm fortunate to be involved with FC Edmonton and to work with this energetic group of athletes, fans, and staff," Ball said. "And I'm looking forward to keep building links to the Edmonton soccer community. I understand the sports world, I know the game, and I’m excited to learn more and develop our front office team.”

Ball held a significant role as president and CEO of Junior Achievement for 11 years and was recently involved with engagements at the World Junior Hockey Championships and the Tour of Alberta.

“The added benefit of this role is that I’m so deeply embedded in our community, I know the people within the corporate world very well,” Ball added. “I’m eager to jump in and help our front office immediately to boost our group sales and corporate relationships.”

“We are very excited to have Jay join FC Edmonton to lead our office operations,” team president and owner Tom Fath said. “His experience and past successes will help FC Edmonton.”

Established in 2010 by owners Tom and Dave Fath, FC Edmonton is now entering its sixth season as a member of the North American Soccer League NASL. The Edmonton-based professional team features a mixture of local and international talent on its roster and is one of just five professional soccer clubs located in Canada.
