“Nassau County is truly proud to serve as home to the New York Cosmos," Mangano said. "Together, we celebrate the Cosmos' championship victory in the North American Soccer League.”
Stover added: "We're honored to be here today to celebrate our championship win with Nassau County and the County Executive Ed Mangano. We would also like to express our gratitude to both County Executive Mangano and Senator Jack Martins for their tremendous support over the years.”
In front of an NASL Modern Era postseason record crowd of 10,166 at Hofstra, the Cosmos sent Marcos Senna and Raúl off into retirement in style with a 3-2 victory over Ottawa Fury FC for the Cosmos’ seventh Soccer Bowl trophy.
