Following Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Atlanta Silverbacks, it was announced by the club that FC Edmonton defender Allan Zebie’s contract has been extended through the 2017 season.
Zebie, 21, joined the FC Edmonton Academy in 2012 and made his professional debut this season against Minnesota United.
“I’m really excited about the future of [Zebie],” Eddies head coach Colin Miller said following the victory. “What a fantastic young man. I’m absolutely delighted for him. Kudos to our academy program, it shows that locally we’re building for the future with this academy and the players that have come through it.”
The Paris-born defender has started in three NASL matches this season and one Amway Canadian Championship match against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Zebie is one of six current first team players that have made the jump from the Edmonton Academy, including Michael Nonni, Sadi Jalali, Mallan Roberts, Hanson Boakai, and Christian Kaiswatum.
