After careful evaluation by the match officials and Canada Soccer, it was deemed unsafe for the Amway Canadian Championship match to proceed tonight in Edmonton. The match is being postponed due to unplayable conditions and because of the uncertain weather for Thursday, the match schedule will be revised.

As a result, the first leg of the FC Edmonton-Vancouver Whitecaps semifinal will be played on Wednesday, May 13, in Vancouver as originally scheduled (BC Place, kickoff 10:00 p.m. ET). The return leg will be moved to Wednesday, May 20, at Clarke Field in Edmonton (kickoff to be confirmed).

The winner of the two-legged semifinal will face the winner of the Montreal-Toronto semifinal in August 2015.

"It was good to see both professional clubs work towards a compromise on the match," FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller said. "The safety of the players and fans is paramount and we have to take these factors into consideration. We pass on our apologies to those fans that traveled and don't get to see a match, but we hope to see them come May 20."
