NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson was on hand to officially present the San Antonio Scorpions with the 2014 Fall Season Championship trophy on Friday. The commissioner presented the trophy during the team’s media day ahead of its semifinal match in The Championship, the league’s four team postseason tournament, against the New York Cosmos on Saturday at Toyota Field.

The San Antonio-New York encounter set for 7:30 pm CT will be shown live on ESPN3, NASLLive.com, ONE World Sports and locally via KSAT12.2-MeTV.

Scorpions captain Adrian Cann, who scored the game-winner last week against the Cosmos to clinch the Fall title, accepted the trophy, which is the first for the club since the 2012 NASL regular season crown.

The match in The Championship Semifinals will also be on Saturday, as Minnesota United FC hosts the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at NSC Stadium. The 6 pm CT matchup will also be shown on ESPN3, NASLLive.com  as well as locally via KSTC45-TV.

The two semifinal winners will face off in The Championship Final the following week at the venue of the highest remaining seeded team in the postseason tournament (Minnesota, San Antonio or New York).
