NASL Board Meeting
12/1/04

Call to Order: The meeting was held in a conference room in Olin King Technology Hall at UAH.

Ed Turner called the meeting to order.
Those attending were: Ed Turner, Steve Bryan, Irene Wisner, Ruth Ghoja, Jim Swain, Christia Woodford

Ed reported that AYSA had sent a note of thanks to NASL for contributing to the cost of pins for the end of season tournaments.

Secretary’s Report: Becky Vansant had emailed to all board members minutes from the November meeting to be approved in her absence. Minutes were accepted as submitted.

Treasurer’s Report: Irene presented the treasurers report.

Old Business:
Steve Bryan reported on his contact with the River City Raptors team which has unpaid FOSNA fees. This team promises payment upon receipt of their bond refund from AYSA.

New Business:

Ed Turner reported that there were several NASL affiliated coaches who were ejected during end of season tournaments. He has requested copies of game reports and information regarding any disciplinary actions being taken against them.

Irene indicated that she had received an invoice for the portable toilets at Merrimack. It appeared that NASL was being billed for the full amount. It was unanimously decided that Irene was authorized to pay the NASL portion of this invoice, after investigating the actual contract details. It is our feeling that Huntsville AYSO and others are to share costs. Irene is to contact Christie Clark for details.

Mike Costello, retiring NASL referee assignor, along with Pat Miller, NASOA President, introduced newly licensed referee assignors Mark Silver and Alfred Modrall. The NASL board recognized Mike Costello’s service to the league with a gift and good wishes as he pursues youth coaching. Pat Miller and Mike Costello thanked the NASL board for implementing stricter disciplinary policy regarding behavior against referees.

Next meeting scheduled 1/12/05 at 6:00 p.m. at the Olin King Technology Center.
