NASL Meeting Minutes
 July 22, 1999

Charlie Zarzour called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. The first agenda item was the election of new officers. Charlie started with the position of Secretary/Communications Director. Carmine Bailey was nominated and a second was given from the floor. A call for the vote and there were no nah's. Next Charlie went on to the office of president where he stated that he wanted to step down. He asked for nominations but there were none. Charlie said that he would stay in that position only until such time as someone else could be found. Charlie then went on to the position of Vice President of Coach and Player Development. This is the position that Charlie wanted. A nomination and second from the floor followed. A call for a vote followed and there were no nah's. Next was the office of second vice president of discipline. There were no nominations so the position is open. Next was the office of treasurer. Vince Paragone wanted to step down. There were no nominations from the floor, so a search to find a new treasurer would be initiated by Carmine Bailey. Next was the office of Scheduler. Craig Harwick was nominated and seconded. There were no nah's from the floor. Finally, the U14 and below coordinator was called for. Christy Clark was nominated from the floor. The nomination was seconded and there were no nah's when the vote was called. In summary the offices for the 1999-2000 NASL board are as follows:

Craig Harwick addressed the forum regarding how to get in touch with him for scheduling. His cell phone number is 653-3574. He is going to set up a voice mail box at his house. The number is 256-881-9435. All games must be scheduled through Craig in order for insurance to cover refs and players.

Charlie brought up the topic of Tournaments. Below is the list of tournaments compiled by the NASL membership.

Charlie asked for the league registration meeting to be scheduled. The registration meeting is August 5th at 6:00pm at Jaycees Building at the Old Airport. There is a word doc file available for download off of the NASL website. The NASL team and player fees for the Fall season are as follows

The scheduling meeting was then scheduled for August 26th at 6:00pm at Jaycees Building at the Old Airport.

A discussion as to whether there would be a U10 league within NASL came up. The decision was that there would be no U10 league coordinated through the NASL. There will be four or five U10 teams that will play in a "REC A+ Select" league that is coordinated through the city of Huntsville Parks & Recreation Department. Belton MacCary out of McGucken Park is putting together the Rec A+ select League for Huntsville and the surrounding area. Roster size is limited to 14. Must register by August 12. Ten games will be scheduled. Cost to be determined. You can contact Belton at 880-6418. Her e-mail address is bblcc74c@aol.com. They play 8v8 (includes keepers) on a U10 field - size (40 yards x 80 yards).

Some miscellaneous notes are as follows:

New referee rates are $2.00 to $3.00 higher this year. The total cost per game is split by both teams.
