Strikers Sign Walter Restrepo

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (JULY 12, 2011) – The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have signed Colombian midfielder Walter Restrepo Uribe to a contract pending US Soccer Federation approval and international clearances.

“We are excited to add Walter to our group,” said head coach Daryl Shore. “He will be an exciting, attacking option for our team.”

Restrepo comes to the Strikers after spending much of his earlier career in Colombia where he played for two Colombian first division teams in Boyaca Chico and Deportes Tolima. He was on the Deportes Tolima team which finished second in the Copa Mustang in 2006. Restrepo also played on the U-17 Colombian national team.

The Strikers travel to Montreal to face the MLS-bound Impact on Wednesday, July 13, at 7:30p.m. All Strikers games are streamed live online at STRIKERS.com.
