FC Edmonton Beats NSC Minnesota 2-1
Posted on Mon, May 23, 2011

In a Victoria Day clash at Foote Field, FC Edmonton defeated NSC Minnesota 2-1. Two rebound goals by Kyle Porter completed an FC Edmonton comeback after Simone Bracalello’s third goal of the season put the Stars ahead midway through the first half.  Less than a minute later, Porter cleaned up after Stars goalkeeper Matt Van Oekel could only deflect a Kyle Yamada shot. In the second half, Porter was on hand again to pick up the pieces after a deflected shot fell to him about six yards out. Edmonton goalkeeper Rein Baart came off his line bravely with about 10 minutes left to stop a Bracalello breakaway and protect the points for the home side. The loss ends the Stars' four match unbeaten streak and drops the Stars to 3-2-3 in the 2011 North American Soccer League season.
