Scorpions and Nike Unveil 2013 Kit Design
Posted on Mon, Mar 18, 2013

San Antonio Scorpions FC, in partnership with Nike, have released their 2013 season uniform design, President and GM Howard Cornfield announced on Monday.

Designed in conjunction with Nike exclusively for San Antonio Scorpions FC along with fan input, the new home kits will include a red and black color scheme with black shorts and black socks with red trim. The away kits will entail a red and white scheme with white shorts and white socks with red trim. Both will feature the San Antonio Scorpions Crest over the player’s heart along with the Toyota logo on the front of the jersey and the H-E-B logo on the back.

The Scorpions are the only professional soccer team in the top two tiers of American club soccer (MLS, NASL) that will play in a Nike designed kit this season.

“We are proud to be the only First or Second Division team in the U.S. to have Nike as a sponsor and we are delighted to wear their gear,” Cornfield said. “Nike produced this jersey design exclusively for the Scorpions based on fan feedback we received back in the fall and we think our fans will love the design.

“Toyota is the presenting sponsor on the front of the jersey while H-E-B will be displayed prominently on the back. Miller Lite, mySA.com, State Farm and the NASL logo will also appear on all team uniforms.”

Jerseys will be available to pre-order from tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. on the Scorpions’ new merchandise site, SAScorpions.com/shop, and will ship in early April. The site will also carry the latest Scorpions merchandise products such as new Ruffneck produced scarves, Nike shirts and other items that will appear throughout the course of the season.

The Scorpions are about to begin their second season in NASL competition and open their brand new stadium, Toyota Field on April 13th vs. the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
