Silverbacks, Illyes Mutually Part Ways
Posted on Fri, Feb 8, 2013

After announcing the addition of Salvadorian midfielder Richie Menjivar, the Atlanta Silverbacks revealed another roster move on Friday. It was announced that the Silverbacks and goalkeeper Daniel Illyes have mutually parted ways. The Hungarian goalkeeper spent the entire 2012 season with the Silverbacks, appearing in 22 of the team's 28 regular season games.

Illyes, 30, has been playing professionally since 2001, and has recently expressed a desire to focus on his goalkeeping academy back in his hometown of Eger, Hungary. The Silverbacks currently have a pair of goalkeepers on the 2013 roster, with both Joe Nasco and Eric Ati returning for another season in Atlanta.
