Match Preview: San Antonio vs. Carolina
Scoprions Host RailHawks on Sunday
Posted on Sat, Sep 15, 2012

The Scorpions clinched a bye into the Semifinals with a road victory this past Saturday  in Cary, N.C. against the RailHawks. San Antonio can become the NASL Regular Season Champions with a home win Sunday against the RailHawks coupled with a Tampa Bay Rowdies tie or loss to FC Edmonton. A tie could also be enough for San Antonio, provided Edmonton defeats the Rowdies.

Despite losing to the Scorpions last weekend, the RailHawks clinched a spot in the playoffs this past weekend as Atlanta and Edmonton both failed to win their matches. Carolina was in action midweek against FC Edmonton at Clarke Stadium. The resulting 2-2 moved Carolina into 4th place. The RailHawks will look to remain in a position to secure a home playoff game and are only five points behind second place Tampa Bay. Carolina faces Tampa Bay twice next week and will look to remain within striking distance of the Rowdies this weekend.

San Antonio has defeated Carolina in all three previous meetings this season winning the games by an aggregate score of 10-0.
