The Islanders arms the gate this Saturday, August 18th at 7:30pm against Southern rivals Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. It is a battle between the 3rd and 4th playoff spots in the NASL. The Islanders are ahead of the Strikers by 4 points (34) with a game in hand. This is the first meeting between the sides in recent memory, but the teams split a home and home series earlier in the year. There were 7 total goals scored in two exciting games that week.
The Strikers and the Islanders will try to maintain the playoff pace at a vital point in the season. The end of the season is upon us, with two trophies up for grabs. We invite our fans to arrive early and support the Islanders on their return home to the Loubriel this Saturday.

OFFENSIVE THREAT
Seasoned vet and Costa Rican pro, Andy Herron, was named NASL’s Offenive Player of the Week for his wonderful goal against the Carolina RailHawks last Saturday. Herron has a solid tally of 8 goals on the season with two assists. Yet he is only second on the Strikers in scoring to only Mark Anderson (11).
SHOUT OUT TO PARI
Defender Pari Pantazopoulos has held it down for the Puerto Rico Islanders while the team adjusts to losing members due international duties and injuries. He has been a revelation while the Troop has recuperated.
