NASL Board Member and Traffic Executive Enrique Sanz Appointed CONCACAF General Secretary
Posted on Mon, Jul 16, 2012

MIAMI, Fla.  (July 16, 2012)   ̶    Enrique Sanz, the Vice President of Traffic Sports USA, was named General Secretary of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) on Friday.  Sanz will assume his new role on July 25th.

Sanz, who co-managed the Traffic Sports USA office with Chairman of the NASL Board of Governors, Aaron Davidson, played a leadership role in establishing the NASL and in overseeing Traffic's investment in the League, including ownership stakes in the Atlanta Silverbacks, Carolina RailHawks, and Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Traffic also serves as the exclusive sponsorship and broadcast rights agency of the NASL, and as such Sanz participated actively in preparing and executing the commercial strategy of the league.

“On behalf of the NASL, Traffic and the other NASL team owners, we wish Enrique great success in leading the Confederation through this transition and into a new era for soccer in the region,” said Davidson.  “I am sure President Jeffrey Webb and Enrique will make a championship team.  I have lived leadership and success first-hand with Enrique as we have developed Traffic and the NASL.  Enrique is a professional, visionary, tireless, perseverant and ever-supportive colleague and teammate, but most importantly he is a friend.  We will miss him at the NASL and Traffic, but are proud that he will now be contributing his knowledge, experience and talents towards the growth of football in the entire region."

“All of us at the NASL wish Enrique the best of luck as he tackles the challenges of this very critical role with the Confederation,” said NASL Commissioner David Downs.  “His contributions to the NASL will be missed, but this appointment will make the sport we all love so much even stronger throughout the region.”
