Match Preview: San Antonio vs. Edmonton
Scorpions Host FC Edmonton on July 4th
Posted on Tue, Jul 3, 2012

The first-place San Antonio Scorpions meet FC Edmonton for the third time this season, and the final time at Heroes Stadium, Wednesday, July 4th.

With a 3-0 win against the Atlanta Silverbacks, the Scorpions reclaimed top spot in the standings after losing it to Puerto Rico the previous week. Esteban Bayona finished off a great team goal with a header, but Pablo Campos stole the headlines by scoring his league-leading seventh and eighth goals of the season.

FC Edmonton faces another top team in row having faced the Islanders on Sunday. The Eddies did well to keep Nicholas Addlery and Jonathan Faña quiet, the game finishing scoreless. Edmonton will be without the services of Kevin Hatchi, who picked up a second bookable offense during the match.

The last meeting between these two sides, the Scorpions came from two goals down to salvage a draw in Edmonton in May. The week before the Scorpions defeated Edmonton 2-0 at Heroes Stadium.
