The Puerto Rico Islanders will be participating in this year’s El Nuevo Dia Soccer Blast, held since yesterday at el Estadio Roberto Clemente Walker in Carolina. More than 2,800 players from 406 teams will be competing in the event, in categories U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and A18. Islander’s players will be on hand, giving away prizes, taking pictures and signing autographs.
"Soccer Blast is happening this week and, if I am not mistaken, this is the biggest tournament to be held on the island for local teams. My players will be visiting Soccer Blast to make appearances and support the event and teams. We wish everybody BUENA SUERTE!" said Head Coach Adrian Whitbread.
Soccer Blast will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. today, 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In addition to all the games, fans will be able to spend time with players from the Puerto Rico Islanders throughout the event. Also, PR Islanders' merchandise will be available for sale. Entrance to the event is free of charge. See you all there!
