All year long, we will be bringing you up close to members of the Tampa Bay Rowdies team.
In this feature of the Get to Know the Rowdies, we spotlight defender Daniel Scott, who is in his second season with Tampa Bay. Daniel has played in 11 matches with eight starts this season and seen action in 751 minutes.
Daniel originally signed with the Rowdies late last season after completing his second season with the Premier Development League’s Kitsap Pumas, who are based in Bremerton, Washington. He was named to the Premier Development League’s 2011 All-League and All-Western Conference teams and captained his club to the 2011 PDL National Championship. Daniel scored an injury time winner at Fresno to advance his side to the PDL national semis, giving Kitsap a 1-0 win.
Daniel served as team captain for the Seattle Wolves in 2009 and was named to the All-League and All-Western Conference first teams, and helped the Tacoma Tide finish first in the Northwest Division in 2008. Daniel was a West Coast Conference second-team selection and four-year starter at Gonzaga University. He also saw action as a member of the Seattle Sounders reserve team in the summer of 2009.
Daniel hails from Haiku, Maui, Hawaii and is the younger brother of Zach Scott, who plays for Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders.
