Match Preview: Puerto Rico vs. Tampa Bay
Islanders Host Rowdies on Saturday
Posted on Fri, Jun 8, 2012

The Puerto Rico Islanders return home from a two-match away trip to host the Tampa Bay Rowdies for the second time this season on Saturday, June 9th at the Bayamon Soccer Complex. Both the Islanders and the Rowdies are coming into this match on the back of defeats in matches that hold both sentimental importance, and historical significance.

Last weekend the Islanders lost to former coach Colin Clarke and the Carolina RailHawks 2-1 in what was the RailHawks first win of the season. The Rowdies suffered a loss to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, falling 3-1 to their in-state rivals at Lockhart Stadium, their first defeat to the Strikers in ten matches since the re-creation of the Florida Derby in 2010.

The two teams last met on the opening day of the 2012 season. The Islanders continued their dominance against the Rowdies, seeing off Tampa Bay 1-0 with a lone-goal from Nicholas Addlery at the Bayamon Soccer Complex.
