Match Preview: Edmonton vs. San Antonio
FC Edmonton Hosts Scorpions on Sunday
Posted on Fri, May 25, 2012

In a reverse of last weekends’ game, FC Edmonton host the San Antonio Scorpions Sunday afternoon at Clarke Stadium. The last time the teams met the Scorpions emerged victorious, defeating the Eddies 2-0 at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.  Defender Jonathan Greenfield scored a goal and an assist in that match, in addition to preserving a shutout for his team. The performance was enough to earn the South African recognition as NASL Defensive Player of the Week.

The Scorpions are coming into the match off of another victory, having played a midweek fixture against Laredo Heat in the U.S. Open Cup Second Round. Goals from Pablo Campos and club captain Kevin Harmse helped the Scorpions to a 2-0 victory in their first ever Open Cup match. The win was the Scorpions fifth straight in all competitions.
