2013: On October 24, 2012 the Strikers announced that Mark Anderson had signed a new multi-year contract with the club.

2012: Mark Anderson officially joined the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on March 22, 2012. The Englishman signs his first professional contract after a successful showing at the 2012 NASL Combine and preseason with the Strikers.

 He made his professional debut for the Strikers in the 1-0 victory against FC Edmonton on April 7th, replacing goalscorer Andy Herron in the 83rd minute of the match. In a match against the Carolina RailHawks on May 2nd, Anderson scored his first professional goal, a shot from outside of the box to level the score at 3-3.

 Anderson has a knack for scoring in spectacular fashion. On May 29, in an Open Cup game against the San Jose Earthquakes, Anderson opened the scoring with a shot from inside his own half. He scored the winning goal from the corner flag against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on June 2.

 He finished his rookie season with two NASL Offensive Player of the Week honors, and earned a place on the NASL Best XI. He made 22 starts in 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring a team-high 13 goals and 3 assists.

  Amateur: Played for amateur side Baton Rouge Capitals of the USL Premier Development League in 2010. Anderson was teammates with former Strikers’ defender Scott Gordon, now Major League Soccer’s Chivas USA.

 College: Anderson enjoyed a very successful college soccer career at Barry University between 2008 and 2010. In three seasons he scored a total of 38 goals and racked up 28 assists in 53 appearances. Anderson was was named 2011 Daktronics DII National Soccer Player of the Year and 2011 Capital One Academic All-America of the Year for DII men's soccer.

 As a freshman, Anderson set several records for the Buccaneers. He scored at least one goal in nine consecutive appearances, posted a school record of 11 assists, and broke the record for points in a season with 33. Anderson led the nation in assists per game (0.786) and was 7^th in the nation for points per game.

 In his native England, Anderson played for Roseberry Sports College. He was a prolific scorer, averaging more than a goal per game in 2007: 43 goals in 35 games. Anderson was awarded the Sportsman Of the Year Award in 2006 and 2007. He was awarded a scholarship to Barry University based on his performances.

 Youth: Anderson was a former youth scholar at Sunderland A.F.C. He was let go by the club as a 16 year-old

 International: Represented Great Britain at the 2011 World University Games in Shenzhen, China. Anderson started every game for Great Britain, scoring twice en route to an appearance in the final. The team collected silver medals having lost 2-0 to Japan in the championship game.

Anderson has been capped by the England Schoolboys at the U-18 level.
