NASL's FC Edmonton unveiled their fifth anniversary 2014 team kits before heading into their training session on Thursday.
“We’re excited going into our fifth year and we wanted something special to show the fans,” said Rod Proudfoot FC Edmonton general manager. “We’re happy to represent The Fath Group on the kits this season because we’re proud of our ownership group and what they have done for this club and this city.”
The adidas cobalt blue and stark white kits are inspired by the fifth anniversary of FC Edmonton. The jerseys feature five inclined horizontal stripes down the front symbolize and celebrate the anniversary of this burgeoning team. The new material allows for a heightened range of movement and keeps the player’s cool and comfortable.
Keen fans will even be able to notice the return of the FC Edmonton Rally Rabbit on the back of the jersey and the team slogan “Stand United” on the back of the shorts.
The Fath Group, featured on the front of the FC Edmonton kit, is there to honour the dedication from owners Tom and Dave Fath. The Fath Group of Companies includes O’Hanlon Paving- an Edmonton road building icon, Fath Industries - asphalt recycling and concrete placing company, M31 Design Group – a software development and video production company, Brookwood Camps and Catering and Hi Signs –a sign manufacturer.
FC Edmonton’s season kicks off April 12 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies in St. Petersburg. The Eddies open their home campaign on Saturday, April 19 against the New York Cosmos.
