“I thought the first half we were excellent in every department,” said RailHawks coach Colin Clarke. “We are delighted to get the win and play well in front of the home crowd. The boys challenged themselves to come out strong. We did that and now we have to continue on to the next one.”
The RailHawks first goal of the game came in the 16th minute of play when Grella drew a penalty after a series of passes in the Silverbacks’ 18-yard box.
Grella stepped up and placed the penalty kick into the left side netting as it beat goalkeeper Eric Ati for his first tally of the season.
Twenty minutes later defender Connor Tobin headed home a forward Zack Schilawski cross in the 36th minute for the 2-0 victory.
